We Can Do Hard Things
In planning and policy fields, a “wicked problem” is one that is difficult or impossible to solve because of incomplete, contradictory, and changing requirements that are often difficult to recognize. Classic examples of wicked problems include: Climate change, Education, Sustainability, and Income Inequality. In our discussion, we’ll consider how a Faith+Works perspective can guide us in our approach to wicked problems.

Bio:
Charles Loflin, as Executive Director of UU FaithAction New Jersey, serves as the principle link with UU congregations, volunteers, coalition partners and legislators in his capacity as policy director, chief administrator and advisor to the Board.
Charles joined UU FaithAction NJ staff in 2020, and he stepped into the role of Executive Director in 2021. As a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Montclair, he had participated in events and actions since the “Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of New Jersey” days.
Charles received his Master of Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological Seminary in 2021. He served as ministerial intern at the Morristown UU Fellowship 2020-2021 and as a community intern at the HUUB during 2018-2019. In addition to his experience in ministry, Charles background includes many years of technical experience as a developer of web applications and social media integrations. He also is a professional trained actor holding a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Louisville.
