Quaniya Jenkins, “The only way out is through”

We welcome Quaniya Jenkins – Quaniya is board member of the HUUB.

Quaniya Jenkins is a proud first-generation college graduate who earned an undergraduate and graduate degree in Social Work from 2014-2020. She is also a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church right here in Orange, NJ. Growing up in a community that faced various challenges, Quaniya developed a passion for advocacy and support for marginalized populations. During their time at RU, she was actively involved in various outreach programs, working with local organizations to provide resources and support to those in need. Quaniya completed internships that focused on mental health, youth services, and community development, which deepened her commitment to social justice.

Now, as a dedicated social worker, she strives to empower individuals and families, fostering resilience and promoting access to essential services as a second grade teacher and board member at the HUUB. Quaniya is also passionate about mentoring other first-generation students, sharing her experiences and insights to inspire the next generation of changemakers.

In her free time, she enjoys reading,hiking, coloring, and cooking which help recharge and inspire her in the important work she does.
