In the spring, we celebrate “Flower Communion” by planting flowers in the borders of our walkway.
For the winter solstice, we will inaugurate a new tradition of exchanging candlesticks and candleholders to bring light into the darkest days of the year and to remind ourselves of the community of faith that holds us together to do the work of making a better world.
Please bring a candlestick and a candleholder. We will arrive with one set and leave with another! They don’t need to be fancy — a good pickle jar and hurricane candle will do!
AND please bring a story or poem or song that you’d like to share!
Molly Rose Kaufman will lead the service for us.
For those joining virtually, have a candle handy at home that you can light along with the ones we light in the sanctuary.
In person at First Church (35 Cleveland St, Orange, NJ 07050) at 4:00PM, December 18th and on Zoom.
